Plz stop to use collin's speculum. We have less beautifull view of cervix. And i am here to have those beautifull view of cervix.

Can i suggest you to use other type of speculum in place of collin one?
- Sullivan speculum (from gynexcorporation.com)
- Graves full view (from gynexcorporation.com)
Those from gynexcorp. can take lot of light inside them.
- Trelat speculum
- 4-Way Lateral Expander Speculum
- The return of pederson (plastc one from your stock)

Best regards

a reply from the site producer:

actually, to get more light into vagina - that was the main reason why we have started using the collin type speculum. Moreover, it was not that simple to obtain these plastic collin speculums. Yes, there are plenty of metal collins, but a plastic one, this is a real problem unless you run some medical facility, and even then it is not that easy.

Generally, we think it don't matter what type of speculum you use, unless you open it wide enough. This is the main problem, some girls are really afraid of speculum or have tight vaginas, so it is a quite big issue to get it opened properly = takes less light. We also use additional light source to light the cervix properly, but it is a tricky thing.

However, we would like to hear more from other members what they think, which type of speculum is the best.

Your new plastic collins speculum is ok.
But the good old sim speculum is better, and greatly missed.
Please resume using it.
As you now have several different specula, why not use them all?
The more speculum insertions, the better! :)

Hello,

the latest video of Lora includes clear collin type speculum and the regular metal speculum which we used to use in the past.
We discontinued the use of metal collin speculum.

Very nice!
Always include a metal Graves. :)

By the way: At some point you could let a patient (or two) rate the speculum they like best.
(However, to be able to form an opinion, that would mean they would have to have them all inserted one after another) :]

Personally, I like the collins speculums a bit more than the regular ones, although I think you should continue to do a mix of exams with all of the different types. No need for all exams to be the exactly same. It would be a shame if you have discontinued the metal collins forever, but I hope you will continue with the plastic one.

Also, it would be great if you could get a wide-view graves speculum from somewhere, as these let more light in and give a better view.

In my mind, the type of speculum you use matters a great deal. Meaning: Different specula allows different ways to open and visualize a vagina. I love to see that. Also, the very process of trying to insert different speculums one by one, and the eventual success of making a speculum fit in and open a woman up even more than the previous one, is very interesting in itself.

If you do not want to change your regular exam routine to incorporate this, please consider producing the occasional "speculum special" where several different speculums is tested out on willing patients. :)
